  • Simple operation
  • Rugged design for harsh environments
  • Automatic control of weighing and discharge
  • Automatic in-flight compensation
  • Automatic dispensing through flow meters
  • Detailed printout of each batch
  • Simple adjustment liquid content and mix time
  • Recording of manual adjustment and amounts of each material used
  • Pre-selection of next load
  • Automatic optimization of batch size

The CBS 20 is a general purpose, low-cost automatic batching system, with the facility to control up to 24 ingredients using up to 3 weigh hoppers and 4 flow meters.

The system provides up to 200 recipes and any quantity can be batched.

The keyboard and screen makes operation extremely simple.

Automatic in-flight compensation ensures accurate weighing and dispensing. The overshoot caused by the material that is "in flight" and delays in doors closing etc. is automatically compensated for. Two-speed feeds and "jogs" can be selected to cater for difficult materials.

A downstream mixer can be controlled with preset mixer times, and automatic discharge. Materials can be ribbon fed to the mixer to assist the mixing process.

Automatic compensation for the moisture content of the materials fed to the weigh hoppers is provided. Control of the moisture content of batch in the mixer can be provided.

"Bin skipping" is provided where if a bin runs out of material and that material is also in another bin then the new bin will be used.

A printout can be provided for each batch showing time and date, target and actual ingredients, recipe number, quantity, and batch number.

Optionally, a delivery docket can be printed on a second printer. A database for 100 customers / sites is provided. The total amount of each material batched automatically is recorded. Each batch can be recorded against one of ninety job numbers.

Concrete plant control
The CBS 20 is ideally suited to the control of block-making and ready-mix concrete batching plants.

Control can be provided for aggregate skip hoists and holding hoppers, dual door mixers, wet / dry leg control.

Automatic moisture compensation can be provided using bin probes, or probes in the mixer.

Specification
The system consists of a single board computer which is all solid-state with no moving parts. This provides a reliable system. A standard monochrome terminal screen and keyboard are used.

24 inputs and 24 outputs at 24 volts dc.

2 load cell interfaces are provided, each capable of supplying 4 X 330 ohm load cells. The system has a 1 micro-volt resolution and is digitally calibrated. Analog and digital filters are provided to ensure accurate control.

4 flow meter inputs are provided.

An interface is provided for 8 off 4 digit LED displays.

The system can be supplied as a kit of parts, in a wall mounting box, or in a desk with or without plant controls.

CBS 2002

CBS2002

The CBS 2002 is a second generation automated concrete batching plant control system with a built-in manual control as back-up. The automatic system is based around an IBM compatible computer and is designed for ease of use, security and efficient production.
Standard features include:
  • Storage for up to 300 recipes.
  • Fully animated display of the batching process with visual display in colour.
  • 20 aggregates, 20 cements, 10 admixtures and 10 waters.
  • Plant setup to suit individual customer’s requirements.
  • IBM compatible computer
  • Plant fault indication
  • Flexible control of vehicle loading.
  • Constant monitoring of plant and production status with audible and visual indication for operators.
  • Batch reports can be printed, and or stored on disk.
  • Management reports on production totals and raw material inventory.
  • Detailed production details available on disk in spread sheet format for detailed analysis
  • Optional docket printing.
The system is based on an IBM compatible computer housed within a rugged console. The VDU is mounted behind a toughened glass window which enables the console to be sealed to exclude dust.

Separate BE 4 instruments are used for each weigh hopper and flow meter. This allows independent manual back up in the unlikely event of the failure of the PC.

Any manual and ancillary controls are mounted on the desk part of the console.

Other configurations are available to customers requirements.

The automatic system includes :-

LOAD QUEUE
This allows details of up to 20 loads to be entered. Loads can be moved, deleted, or copied. As an option the load queue can be edited remotely via a modem or direct link to a shipping system.

RECIPES
Up to 1000 recipes can be stored either as kilograms per cubic metre, or as polynomials.

MOISTURE COMPENSATION
The system can compensate for moisture in the aggregates by adjusting the water quantity and the aggregate weight. The moisture percentage can be entered manually or optionally, be read from moisture meters in the aggregate bins.

STOCK RECORDING
Comprehensive records of deliveries, manual and automatic usage of up to 20 of each type of ingredient are kept.

BATCH RECORDS
Records of each batch are recorded on the hard disk for future examination or print out.
